When visiting Ludington, Michigan, you’ll want to make sure that you check out the various places around town. Ludington State Park

Ludington State Park is a public recreation area in Ludington, Michigan. It spans 5,300 acres on the shores of Hamlin Lake Michigan. The park features numerous recreational activities and is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts.

Hiking trails in the park feature varied scenery. You’ll cross over bridges and walk through scenic sand dunes. The Lost Lake Trail is 1.5 miles long and connects to the Logging Trail and the Ridge Trail. It also features historical sites such as a US life-saving station and marshy areas.

The park is also home to three mini cabins that are perfect for camping. The cabins feature bunk-style beds and electricity. The only drawback is that you’ll have to bring your own bedding. Other amenities include a fire pit and a picnic table. Restrooms and showers are nearby.

The Port of Ludington Maritime Museum is another place to go in Ludington. Housed in a former Coast Guard Station, the museum offers rare glimpses into the past through authentic artifacts and historic photographs. It is perfect for families and is open from May 1 to October 23. Visitors are encouraged to purchase a combo ticket for the museum and the park.

Another attraction in Ludington State Park is the Big Sable Point Lighthouse. At 112 feet high, this black and white striped lighthouse overlooks Lake Michigan and is accessible by foot. Just a short walk from the campground, visitors are rewarded with breathtaking views.

Jaycees Mini Golf

The Ludington Area Jaycees Mini Golf course opened in 1967. Since then, it has raised funds to support a variety of local projects. Proceeds from the golf course go to local nonprofits and schools, but do not necessarily go to the Jaycees’ chapter projects. On Charity Mondays, the Jaycees donate 30% of the proceeds to a chosen nonprofit. These organizations benefit from free advertising and the opportunity to promote their cause on the course.

Jaycees Mini Golf is a fundraiser for several community organizations, including the Ludington Area Jaycees, Hearts for Haiti, and West Shore Family Support. During the Fourth of July festival, Jaycees members raise funds for these charities. In addition to the golf course, the Jaycees have other activities planned.

Ludington Area Jaycees Mini Golf has recently undergone a complete renovation, adding 18 themed holes that feature landmarks from the city. The course is open to the public every day from noon to 9 p.m. during the summer, it is the perfect place for family outings. In addition to golfing, Ludington Area Jaycees Mini Golf has a skate plaza. Open to the public from Memorial Weekend to Labor Day, the skate park features rails, quarter pipes, and bowls.
